“Shawn won first place in the Wallace Stevens Poetry Contest at University of Connecticut, where he earned his M.A. in English. His play, A Glory Night, was a finalist at both the O'Neill Playwrights Conference and Midwest Play Labs Conference. He is co-author of Buscando America, a multicultural play produced at Rancho Santiago College. Geese was produced at South Coast Repertory and Slow Like Me was staged at Fullerton College, where he has taught English for 15 years.
