§  Dramatis Personae Dolphin #1 (m or f), any age; Dolphin #2 (m or f), any age; Parent (m or f), any age; Child (m or f), child or humorous adult.

§  Synopsis “Dolphin #1 wants to beach himself to warn humans of an upcoming earthquake. Dolphin #2 warns that the exercise is useless but joins in. On the beach, the Child senses the dolphins’ try to communicate, but the Parent pushes the dolphins back into the ocean.

§  Comment “You can’t warn those who won’t listen.  •  This mini-play needs neither scenery nor props. The comedy is an ideal transition during an evening of one-acts—perform ‘Bad Tidings’ downstage while upstage you change scenery for your next one-act. This play was successfully workshopped.”

§  Themes acquiescence, beach, childhood, coercion, communication, dolphin, earthquake, futility, human, innocence, ocean, parenting, perception, suicide, warning.
