§ Dramatis Personae Kane (m), 28, bioengineer, attractive but hyper; Ron (m), 22, hippy waiter, embarrassing uniform, soulful; Grady (m), 35, photography professor, pompous, alcoholic; Nancy (f), 22, photography student, smooth, intelligent.

§ Synopsis “Nancy is going out to dinner with her boyfriend, Kane, and her photography professor, Grady. Both men love her and want to clear the air. Unfortunately, the waiter, Ron, has been pining for her since she stole his virginity in grade school. She can only choose one of them. . . . The question might be ‘who,’ but might also be ‘should she’ or ‘why on earth would she pick any of these obsessive losers?’

§ Comment “Single set, single scene. Adult content (language, situations). • ‘Oh, Nancy!’ premiered in San Francisco as a part of Theatre Artists’ Conspiracy Cafe Project, an environmental evening of one-acts staged at the Canvas Hang, a large cafe. The play’s lead character, Nancy, also appears in the play “LibidOff,” which takes place approximately five years later. • Research could include Dawson Moore: a biography, http://dawsonmoore.com/bio.html, accessed September 11, 2003.

§ Themes cafe, courtship, photography, sex, virginity.
