§ Synopsis “Sweet, shy Emma has given up on wishing on pennies and blowing out birthday candles. But when her mom sends her a $20 bill—and she picks up a penny—Andrew Jackson and Abraham Lincoln have some words of advice regarding life, love, and lucky pennies.

§ Comment “Two scenes, one outside apartment, one inside. Simple apartment set. Props include twenty-dollar bill, penny, answering machine, bag of groceries. • Staged reading ar Three Wise Monkeys’ Short Leaps afestival, 2002. • “Jody Handley's most recently staged work was ‘Subjects,’ produced by the Unidentified Theatre Company as part of the 2003 Bay Area One Acts Festival. Unidentified also produced ‘To Engage in Mutual Touching or Caressing of the Lips’ in March, 2002. In the Playwrights’ Center of San Francisco’s 2001 DramaRama, ‘To Engage . . .’ beat out finalist ‘Subjects’ to win the short play competition.
