§ Dramatis Personae Charlie (m), 39, subway dweller;
Todd (m), 32, TV producer.
§ Synopsis “A man living underground in the subway
system is asked by a television producer to compete on a 'reality TV show.'
The shallow producer thinks the 'Battle of the Subway People' would be a huge
hit. The reclusive hermit sees the show in a far more troubling light.
§ Comment “The setting is actually rather simple.
There is one scene: the subway dweller lives tucked away in an alcove. Charlie
has some newspapers, a radio and a sleeping roll. A train rumbles nearby (easily
found on sound effect tape).
§ Themes entertainment, hit show, life style, New
York City subway system, reality TV, reclusiveness, society, television production.
