Synopsis "Shortly after the disastrous marriage
of Henry VIII to his fourth wife, Anne of Cleves, portrait painter
Hans Holbein is suffering Henry's wrath. The king feels he has
been tricked by Holbein's portrait of his prospective bride: the
painting was much more pleasing than the woman. Fool Will Somers
comes to sit for a portrait shortly before Holbein is to visit
the king. The two share stories of court life and gossip about
Henry's matrimonial history. Then Holbein reveals an attraction
to Queen Anne that probably clouded his judgement in painting
her picture."
