§ Dramatis Personae Alvis the Dwarf (m), a dwarf, "All-Wise" aka "Elvis"; Thor (m), the Norse god of thunder.
§ Synopsis “Alvis the Dwarf approaches the thunder god Thor at night near his home in Asgard. His request: to marry Thor’s Valkyrie-daughter, Thrud, claiming that a pledge made by the gods earlier made his request possible and binding. Unfortunately, Thor was not present when the bargain was struck, and has no desire to have a dwarf as a son-in-law. So, instead of using his fabled brawn to solve the dilemma, he resorts to his wits, and challenges Alvis to a riddle contest of sorts, to see if he were, indeed, a fit spouse for Thrud, keeping his adversary busy until the first rays of the sun turn the hapless dwarf into stone.
§ Comment “No real set, no real props although Thor's hammer Mjolnir would make for a nice touch. Costume as needed.”
§ Themes contest, courtship, Elvis, god, marriage, Norse mythology, pledge claim, riddle, skald, sun, Thor, wit.
