  §  Dramatis Personae Dennis (m), 21, college student; Marlboro Man (m), 25-60, American cowboy; Lisa (f), 21, college student; Cover Girl (f), 26-40, sexy model, great body.

  §  Synopsis “A young couple come in from their first date to spend the night in the boy’s dorm room. They enter arguing about an Alfred Hitchcock film they have just seen. When Lisa leaves the room, the Marlboro Man suddenly appears to give Dennis advice on how to handle women. When Lisa reenters, the Marlboro Man disappears. The couple resumes their quarrel. When Dennis leaves to go to the bathroom, Cover Girl shows up to give advice to Lisa. Finally, the couple begin to sort things out, when the apparitions reappear, frustrated by their inability to exert their influence.

  §  Comment Three scenes. Each is located in the dorm room of an American college. No specials. The play will open at the Samuel French Festival in New York on August 17, 2002.  •  Translation into Japanese: Hideo Horibe, Professor of English, Institute of Technology, Hiroshima, Japan.
