§ Dramatis Personae Odin (m), King of the Norse gods; Vafthrudnir (m), a giant known for his wisdom; Frigga (f), Queen of the Norse gods.

§ Synopsis “Upon consulting the matter in his own hall with his wife, Frigga, Odin visits the Giant (Jötun) Vafthrudnir in disguise, for the purpose of testing and proving his knowledge. The two then try to stump the other with riddles based on the Cosmogony of the Northern creed, on the condition that whoever loses also loses his head! After a few heated rounds, a question that only Odin could answer stumps Vafthrudnir, who concedes the contest and his head to Odin.
