Dramatis Personae Eve (f), a patient; Visitor (m), a stranger; George (m), Eve’s husband.

Synopsis “Eve, lying in a hospital bed, alone, sedated, just before midnight, reflects on her good fortune:  she is sure she overheard the doctor say she will make a full recovery.  As she contemplates her life and her good fortune, she becomes aware of the presence of a
Visitor, whose questions and comments profoundly undermine her self-assurance and her contentment.  As the Visitor departs, George, her husband, replaces him, having come to take Eve home.  Probed by Eve, George reveals a secret from the distant past that transforms Eve and proves her salvation.”
