§ Dramatis Personae Bill (m), 50, richest man in the world, American; Rupe (m), 70, second richest man, Australian; Dallas Cowgirl (f), 25, curvaceous cheerleader.
§ Synopsis "Bill and Rupe, half a world apart, communicate by videophone. Rupe proposes to Bill that they take over the world by means of establishing an economic hegemony. Bill does not understand. Rupe proposes to demonstrate by buying the Dallas Cowboys football team, moving it to Cambridge, Massachusetts, U.S.A., establishing Jerry Jones, their former owner as president of Harvard University. In an epilogue the Dallas Cowgirl reports how all this worked out.
§ Comment "Bare stage with two space-age thrones. Single set; hence no changes. Longer version (one-act) won community theatre comedy award. This shorter version has not yet been staged. • For more on the playwright, see http://www.aquinas.edu/emeritus/history.html."
§ Themes big business, big education, big sports, Gates (Bill Gates), Murdoch (Rupert Murdoch), NFL football, collegiate football, spoof.
