§ Dramatis Persona Jesus/Devil/prostitute/Judas (m).

§ Synopsis “Jesus of Nazareth, dressed is modern clothes, speaks the words of his diary. They are are different from the words of scripture in that they are imbued with passion and human striving. He reacts to his experience, as if the events of his life and people he meets teach him who he is. He is, first and foremost, a man in deep and intense struggle with his identity and his destiny. He has a strong sense of mission, is in love with his mission, but, at times is overwhelmed by the demands it makes on him. In the course of the play, he means the Devil, a prostitute and Judas, the man who finally betrays them. The same actor portrays these three characters, as well as the central character. As the play races to its inevitable climax, he experiences a violent and horrible death and, in a final poetic climax, experiences rising from the dead.

§ Comment “As a result of being listed on your web site, 'Memoirs of Jesus' was produced at the Epcor Center for the Arts in Calgary, Alberta [Canada]. The play opened in February of 2003 and played for about three weeks. I was able to go to Calgary and see it, and it was a wonderful experience. Thanks!” Harry Cronin, holycrosscenter@sbcglobal.net, May 17, 2003. • Research could include The Diary of Jesus,,” accessed April 30, 2002.
