  §  Dramatis Personae Receptionist (m or f), 30, _____; Jill (f), 22, college student; Liza (f), 22, college student; Waitress (f), 40, _____.

§  Synopsis “To Jill, Liza reveals having a difficult time determining reality from her own imagination. With the help of a psychology professor, Liza begins to break through her imaginary world, and as she does, certain people in her life disappear. Jill, concerned about the unusual therapy, hunts down the professor to question his motives. Jill finds that no such professor exists but that he is one of Liza’s imaginary friends. Jill attempts to help Liza find a solution to her problem, and in one final twist, finds that Liza herself was part of Jill’s own imagination.

§  CommentScene i: Campus diner, Monday. Scene ii: Psychology Department reception, Tuesday. Scene iii: Campus diner, Wednesday. Scene iv: Psychology Department reception, Thursday. Scene v: Campus diner, later Thursday.  •  Ends in a twist.  •   Recommended staging has the diner on stage right—a booth or table and chairs will do—and a reception area consisting of a desk with a few chairs on stage left. Modern costumes and minimal props/set requirements make staging this play possible with little or no budget.”

§  Themes college students, college teaching, disorder, imaginary friends, schizophrenia, psychology, psychosis, reality.
