Dramatis Personae Katharine (f), Petruchio (m)

Synopsis "After many years of marriage, and a few children, Katharine has asked for a divorce from Petruchio, on the grounds of incompatibility. Outraged, particularly in light of the efforts he went through to marry her in the first place, and acutely aware of the public embarassment that her divorce of him would cause, Petruchio furiously tries to assert his authority over Katharine, and provoke her shrewish side. But she reveals the true nature of their married life, and that the result of her 'taming' was the untaming of a much better part of her. Before agreeing to reconcile, she insists that she be wooed again--not as who she was, but as who she has become."

Themes divorce, dominance, longtime relationship, marriage.
