Dramatis Personae Adam (m), son and lover of Eve; Eve (f), mother of Adam and his lover.

Synopsis “In this version of the story of Genesis, Eve is Adam’s mother. As Adam grows older, he becomes Eve’s lover and that’s when the trouble begins . . . .

Comment “‘The Story’ was published in the Kenyon Review (Summer 1980) and produced at the Magic Theatre of San Francisco. Adapted by the author for radio, the script was selected by Martin Esslin for inclusion in the Bay Area Radio Drama series, which aired on NPR [National Public Radio] affiliates in the mid-eighties.”
