Jolly via ftp October 8, 2005; Jolly says,

§ Dramatis Personae Harold (m), any age, a recidivist sex offender; Psychiatrist (f), any age, Harold’s psychiatrist.

§ Synopsis "A Psychiatrist confronts one of her patients—a manic, recidivist sex offender—in his jail cell. She wants to learn the truth of his circumstances, and why he is back in jail after she signed his parole release. He is desperately clinging to her as the ideal of his last chance at normality, at avoiding chemical castration—and at (in his mind) love.

§ Comment "One scene suited to a bare stage. The original includes a sound effect at the beginning and at the end, but this can be omitted. This play includes adult themes and language and may not be suitable for all audiences. ‘Tiger in a Cage’ was originally performed as part of the Coop Theater Company workshop, with Kate Mallen as the Psychiatrist and Luke Michael as Harold. The playwright, Arthur M. Jolly, is the author of ‘Howie's Last Words,’ ‘Circus Schism,’ ‘The Christmas Princess’ and ‘Better by Candlelight.’ He is a member of the Coop Theatre Company in Santa Monica, and writes from his houseboat in Los Angeles. He is also a former helicopter pilot, stuntman and stunt coordinatr, with over 150 film and TV credits. www.arthurjolly.com includes several of his plays, as well as monologues for men and women.”

§ Themes crime, jail, psychiatry, punishment, sex.
