§ Dramatis Personae Jim (m), 22, brother, groggy; Kelly (f), 25, sister, attractive, panic-stricken.

§ Synopsis “Jim is awakened in the middle of the night when his frantic sister, Kelly, shows up at his door. It is the night before her wedding to Jim’s best friend, and she wants to call the whole thing off. Jim does his best to convince his neurotic sister that it’s too late to back out, but Kelly is desperate and clearly upset. She confides to Jim that her fiancé’s dirty underwear—his ‘skid marks’—are the source of the problem. Not until her fed-up brother pushes her out the door does Kelly finally reveal her much darker secret.

§ Comment “One scene. Living room of a basic bachelor pad, with at least a couch. Some strong language.” • Addendum September 22, 2004: “‘Symbiosis’ and ‘Skid Marks’ were both produced in an evening of one-act plays called Fourplay at Cyrano's Off-Center Playhouse in Anchorage, Alaska, September 9-19th, 2004.”

§ Themes abuse, bachelor party, best friend, brother-sister relationship, early morning, fiancé-fiancée relationship, marriage, siblings, underwear, wedding.
