§ Dramatis Personae Stuart (m), 45, father; Peggy (f), 45, mother.

§ Synopsis “Peggy and Stuart return home to find their son passed out after a party. They scold him. They blame each other for his upbringing. But something's wrong. They're enjoying themselves too much. Every barb. Every comeback saved up over the years. Confronted with an empty nest, they finally have the chance to say it.

§ Comment “One husband, one wife, simple set. • Developed at Act Out ’97, Actors' Theatre of Washington, District of Columbia, U.S.A., 1997; premiered at 12th Annual 10-Minute Play Competition, Source Theatre Company, District of Columbia, U.S.A., 1997; produced at Shadowbox Cabaret, Ohio, U.S.A., 2002; produced at SlamBoston! Competition, Another Country Productions, Massachusetts, U.S.A., June, 2004.”—Ten-Minute HG, http://www.christopherwall.org/ten-minutes1.htm, accessed July 27, 2004. • “My plays are organized into full-lengths, one-acts, and ten-minutes. I've included a plot summary, the cast and production requirements, and a script history. Everything here has been produced or published, or both. I pulled a monologue from each play to give you a sense of my writing. You're welcome to use them to audition. If you like what you see, contact me and I'll e-mail the script to you. I started writing comic essays to amuse my friends and make it through yet another workday in a basement cubicle. A more serious piece is forthcoming in The Saint Ann's Review. I currently teach expository writing at New York University, where I'm getting an MFA in dramatic writing. I have a BA from Dartmouth and an MA in Creative Writing from Boston University.”— Christopher Wall, June 9, 2004.”—About, http://www.christopherwall.org/resume.htm, accessed July 27, 2004.

§ Themes empty nest, family, parenting.
