Personae Nick (m), 35, Anne’s ex-husband; Anne (f), 35, Nick’s ex-wife.
§ Synopsis
“Nick is back in his old apartment picking up some of his things and catching
up with ex-wife Anne. They discuss what led to the uncoupling, and their memories
differ greatly. Breaking up was easy for Nick, until he realized how popular
his ex-wife was becoming. Now, he has second thoughts about the divorce,
and she's flying high. As Nick says, ‘This divorce isn't working out!’
§ Comment
“The single scene requires simply a table and two chairs. Clothes should be
casual. • This play premiered in New York regional theatre, at
StageWorks. TSI will stage it Off-Broadway, in New York City, September, 2002.”
§ Themes
breaking up, divorce, memory, popularity, reminiscence.
